I knew Elke Wollschon for about 10 years now I think, or close to that from Malaysian Association of Professional Speakers.
Then also caught up with her as my love for essential oils grew with Young Living. And in the last few years, it was the work we did for CanSurvive Malaysia.
Its been many years since we last met and after many postponed attempts to meet up, we finally met this week!
Elke is now my mentor/trainer for my psycho-oncology certification that I am doing with TBAcare GmbH. I finally sat down with her to speak and discuss the work I am doing with cancer patients, survivors and caretakers.
While both of us are not experts of cancer in anyway, what we are experts off is, the process of coaching.
One important element often neglected and forgotten in the care of terminal disease patients are the matters of the mind. There is a great need to work with patients to else address the well being of the mind which helps with the progress in healing.
Im just few months into my certification now, with many assignments and course work to settle, but already I have picked up on tools that is used on top of usual coaching process to work on topics like diagnosis, remission… death. Heavy moments but needed to be included.
Thanks Elke for spending time with me and also to Thomas Bach for all the support.
